Bedford Cheese Shop

On my way home the other day, I walked by Bedford Cheese Shop on Irving Place, a cheese shop that recently opened up. The shop has a lot of different smells when you go in (because the pungent cheeses really kind of knock you off your feet when you first walk in) but they have a really fun collection of sweets and biscuits from Europe so it’s worth a visit (even if you can’t stand the smell!)

My purchases included European Nutella:

It tastes a little more decadent and a lot less sugary – definitely distinguishable because the European kinds are filled in glass jars while the American kinds are in plastic tubs.

Elderberry witch gummy hats:

These are much less sweet than gummy bears from the US and they also have a very interesting texture; they don’t use high fructose corn syrup and the flavor is much more refined than normal gummies. Highly recommended!

And finally, I bought a snack bar (by Cadbury) and I wanted to save it for a special treat:

But Ken got to it first! I left it in the bag and was going to pack it with my lunch, but Ken used the bag to pack his lunch and then he admitted to eating it later. I didn’t even taste it ๐Ÿ™ Apparently it was really delicious!

The cheese shop offers all kinds of classes and is a great new shop in the neighborhood. I really disliked the smell the first time I visited but now it smells kind of interesting when I go in!
